After 15 months of training puppies return to Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael for their formal training.  Unfortantely, not all puppies are suited for guide work, and have to be "Career Changed."  Such was the case for our beloved Fallon.  As wonderful of a dog as she is, she has both hip and elbow displaysia, disqualifying her from the program.  Fortunately for us, Fallon came back to our home.  Today she is certified as a "Pet Partner" through the local Delta Society Program, RxPets, and the R.E.A.D. program (Reading Education Assisstance Dog).  Fallon's favorite activity in her new career is to sit and listen to kids read to her.  While she isn't working everyday, she certainly loves her new "career."
